Selfie
The overall message I want to convey is my interests in nature and cities at the same time. Each layer has its own individual representation. The first layer is a selfie of myself, representing the image centering around me (not trying to be arrogant). The second layer is of a tree. I have always liked outdoor photography and often go on camping trips around Michigan and the U.S. The third layer is a wall from The Heidelberg Project. I believe in free expression and I like how the artist wants to better the lives of Detroit’s residents through art. The fourth and final layer is the General Motors Headquarters. I love urban/street photography more than I do nature (although this picture is more architecture). My grandfather worked as a programmer for Chrysler during the 80s. I have a lot of family history in Detroit’s car industry. I used the ruler tool to measure out the background photos so they would be even. I also used the masking tool to select the space marked out by the ruler. I also used blending options so that I can demonstrate I know how to change the opacity. The whole purpose of this college was to show my interests (and get a good grade so I can graduate).
